Founding Architect, Sovereign AI Systems
Location: Palo Alto · Type: Full-time, founding team
Overview
Lore is building a distributed AI compute system designed to operate across multiple secured sites, with intelligent redundancy, strong isolation guarantees, and centralized control.
We're hiring a Founding Architect to help define the end-to-end system architecture. This role is not about filling in boxes on a predetermined diagram. It's about making first-principles decisions across compute, storage, networking, security, and control, and turning those decisions into a system that can actually be built and operated.
You'll work directly with the CEO to shape the technical blueprint for Lore's platform.
What you'll work on
- Designing the architecture for a distributed AI compute system spanning multiple sites and regions
- Defining approaches to availability, failover, isolation, and workload placement under real-world constraints
- Shaping the control plane that coordinates infrastructure, policy, telemetry, and lifecycle management
- Establishing security and trust primitives, including hardware identity and attestation strategies
- Producing reference architectures that can be deployed repeatedly as the system scales
Who this is for
- Engineers with deep experience in distributed systems, HPC, or infrastructure at scale
- People comfortable bridging physical infrastructure and software control layers
- Engineers who have designed systems where reliability and failure modes actually matter
- Prior founding or early-stage experience is a plus, but not required
This is a founding role with meaningful equity and direct influence over Lore's technical direction.
